Quick answer

If raw disposable-domain coverage is what you are buying, IsItDisposable is the stronger product. As of 10 October 2026 its homepage reports 226,681 tracked domains, about 24 times the 9,222 CC0 domains on Vetto’s list. It also has a 100-address batch endpoint, team seats with roles and official SDKs.

Vetto is the better fit if your signup form also loses people to typos and repeat free trials. It shows a one-click “Did you mean…? Fix” under the field, flags Gmail alias farms and lookalike domains on Pro, and costs $12 a month for three sites. They share two design choices: neither probes mailboxes over SMTP, and both fail open, so a slow check never breaks your form.

Detection coverage

A disposable check is mostly a list game, and IsItDisposable plays it at a different scale: 226,681 tracked domains, 9,726 added in the last 30 days, daily refreshes and a public correction queue.

Vetto starts from the community CC0 list (9,222 domains) and adds one layer: it remembers the mail servers behind known throwaway domains, so a new domain on the same infrastructure is caught before it reaches any list. That narrows the gap on fresh domains; it does not close it.

Both check that a domain can receive mail (IsItDisposable flags missing MX records; Vetto flags NXDOMAIN, null MX and no MX or A record), and both treat privacy relays such as Apple Hide My Email separately from throwaways.

What Vetto adds

  • One-click typo rescue. jane@gmial.com gets “Did you mean jane@gmail.com? [Fix]”; a second submit still goes through. Try the email typo checker.
  • Alias-farm detection (Pro). j.a.n.e+trial7@googlemail.com is jane@gmail.com. Vetto keeps salted hashes, never plain emails, for 90 days and warns on repeats. See the rules in the Gmail alias checker.
  • Lookalikes with a live mail server (Pro). gmai.com passes a dead-domain check; Vetto warns, because your welcome email would reach a stranger.
  • Network and burst signals (Pro). Datacenter, VPN and Tor traffic, and more than five signups from one IP in an hour (the default limit).
  • A signed token (Pro). Bots that post straight to your API skip browser checks; the vetto_token lets your server prove the check ran.
  • A private CSV audit. The email list audit parses your user list in the browser; only domain names are sent.

When IsItDisposable is the better choice

  • You want the biggest throwaway list. About 24 times more domains, refreshed daily.
  • You have volume. Plans go to 250,000 lookups a month plus Enterprise. Vetto Pro tops out at 20,000 checks per site per month across 3 sites.
  • You want building blocks. A batch endpoint (100 per call), SDKs, an MCP server and signed webhooks.
  • You work as a team. Every plan includes seats with owner, admin and member roles. Vetto has no seats or roles.
  • You want every feature on the free plan. IsItDisposable tiers differ only in volume and seats. On Vetto Free, the Pro signals only run in shadow mode.

Switching takes one script tag

Remove IsItDisposable’s snippet first, so a visitor never sees two messages under the same field. Then add Vetto before </body>:

index.html
<script src="https://usevetto.com/v.js" data-site="pk_xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" defer></script>

Limit it to some forms with data-forms; skip a field with data-vetto-ignore. If your backend called IsItDisposable’s API, the Pro equivalent is POST /v1/check or verifying the vetto_token. Our guide to blocking disposable emails on any signup form has copy-paste versions for HTML, Webflow, Framer, Next.js and Supabase. Need mailbox-level checks too? Frequently asked questions

Is Vetto's disposable list bigger than IsItDisposable's?

No. As of 10 October 2026, IsItDisposable reports 226,681 tracked domains; Vetto ships 9,222 CC0 domains plus the throwaway mail servers it has learned. If list coverage is your main need, pick IsItDisposable.

Which free plan gives me more?

Vetto Free covers 1 site with 1,000 checks a month, but Pro signals only run in shadow mode there. IsItDisposable Free has 250 lookups a month with every feature, after a 14-day full-access trial (as of October 2026).

Does either one check that the mailbox exists?

No. Neither opens SMTP connections; both read DNS and their own data, which keeps checks fast enough for a signup form. For mailbox-level verification before a send, use a verifier such as Kickbox.

Can I enforce the verdict on my server?

Yes. IsItDisposable lets any plan call its REST API from your backend. On Vetto Pro, you verify the signed vetto_token offline or with /v1/verify, or call /v1/check with your secret key. Vetto Free relies on the browser check plus a hidden honeypot.

What counts as a check?

Vetto counts a check when the form is submitted; the check when a visitor leaves the field does not count toward quota. IsItDisposable counts each address you submit, including each one in a batch call.
