Load the JSON once at startup, keep it in a Set, and check the domain plus each parent domain. Run the check on your server: a check that only runs in the browser is skipped by any bot that posts straight to your API.

- Privacy relays such as Apple Hide My Email (
privaterelay.appleid.com), Firefox Relay, addy.io and SimpleLogin. They forward to a real inbox, and blocking them turns away privacy-minded customers. - Free mailbox providers such as Gmail, Outlook or Proton. If your product is B2B-only you may want to ask for a work email, but that is a separate rule, not a disposable check.
Frequently asked questions
Where does this list come from?
It is the community-maintained disposable-email-domains project on GitHub, published under CC0 (public domain), as shipped inside Vetto: 9,222 domains. You can use it for anything, commercial included, without attribution.
How often is it updated?
This copy is refreshed from the upstream project whenever Vetto ships an update; the date at the top of the page is the last refresh. New throwaway domains appear every day, which is why Vetto also learns the mail servers behind known throwaway domains and flags new domains that point to them.
Should I block every domain on the list?
For free trials and waitlists, yes: nobody needs a 10-minute inbox to evaluate a product. Do not confuse them with privacy relays such as Apple Hide My Email or Firefox Relay. Those forward to a real, long-lived inbox and belong to real (often paying) users, so they are not on this list.
Is a domain that is not on the list safe?
Not necessarily. The domain can still be a typo (gmial.com), dead (no mail server), a lookalike with its own mail server (gmai.com), or a new throwaway service. The live disposable email checker covers those cases with a DNS lookup.
Do subdomains count?
Yes. Match the domain and every parent: abc.mailinator.com is disposable because mailinator.com is on the list. The code samples on this page do exactly that.
